Sculptural Alabaster Lighting
Calliope Alabaster Wall Sconce — Natural Stone, Architectural Form
The Calliope Wall Sconce brings together the organic character of Spanish alabaster and the precision of architectural metal detailing. Its elongated white stone form is held within a restrained arrangement of metal brackets, creating a distinctive balance between natural texture and structured geometry. The result is a wall light with a considered, sculptural presence, equally compelling when illuminated or switched off.
Integrated LED illumination passes through the translucent alabaster, revealing its individual veining and producing a softly diffused glow. Available in two vertical proportions, 60 cm and 80 cm high, with Black or Copper detailing and three selectable colour temperatures, Calliope offers flexibility for both intimate residential settings and more expansive architectural interiors.
Design & Material
A dialogue between natural stone and precise metalwork
The white Spanish alabaster introduces a quietly expressive surface, with subtle variations in pattern and tone that become more apparent when light passes through the stone. Its natural translucency softens the illuminated surface, while the individual mineral markings give each fixture a distinct appearance. Variations in veining are an inherent feature of the material.
The slender stone element is complemented by a metal backplate and contrasting retaining brackets. These structural accents interrupt the otherwise continuous vertical silhouette, introducing a deliberate geometric rhythm. Black detailing offers a stronger graphic contrast, while Copper provides a warmer visual relationship with the pale alabaster.
Dimensions
Two vertical proportions for considered placement
Calliope is available in 60 cm and 80 cm heights. The smaller configuration creates a refined vertical accent, while the taller version brings greater visual emphasis to larger wall surfaces. Both retain the collection's slender, elongated character.
| Size | Imperial | Metric |
|---|---|---|
| 60 cm Height | Ø 3.9″ × H 23.6″ | Ø 10 × H 60 cm |
| 80 cm Height | Ø 4.7″ × H 31.5″ | Ø 12 × H 80 cm |
Measurements refer to the stated fixture dimensions. Consider the height of surrounding furniture, adjacent architectural features and the intended viewing position when selecting a size.

Finish Options
Two distinct expressions of the same form
The white alabaster is paired with a choice of contrasting metal detailing, allowing the sconce to complement different interior palettes without changing its essential silhouette.
Dark metal accents establish a crisp contrast against the pale stone, emphasising the fixture's vertical geometry and bracket details. Particularly suited to contemporary interiors with black architectural elements.
Copper-toned detailing introduces warmth to the composition, creating a softer visual transition between the natural alabaster and surrounding finishes. Well suited to interiors with warm metals, timber and neutral materials.
Lighting Options
Select the atmosphere that suits your interior
Calliope is offered with three colour-temperature options. Each produces a different expression of the alabaster surface, from a warmer residential glow to a cooler, more neutral presentation.
A welcoming warm tone that brings out the stone's subtle depth. A considered choice for bedrooms, living spaces and relaxed evening environments.
A balanced white light with a more neutral appearance, suited to contemporary spaces where a clean and understated lighting character is preferred.
A cooler white illumination that gives the stone a brighter, more defined visual character.
Lighting Character
Illumination shaped by the stone itself
Rather than presenting the light source as the dominant visual element, Calliope uses its alabaster body as the illuminated surface. The stone diffuses the integrated LED light, producing a gentler luminous appearance and allowing the material's natural markings to emerge.
The elongated proportions and restrained metalwork provide a strong visual identity even during daylight hours. When illuminated, the sconce takes on a different character as the white stone becomes softly luminous, adding depth and atmosphere to the surrounding wall.
Placement
A refined vertical accent for residential interiors
The slender form makes Calliope particularly effective where a wall light can contribute to the architectural composition rather than simply provide illumination. Its two heights allow the fixture to be considered alongside both compact furniture arrangements and more generous wall proportions.
Installation
Wall-mounted, hardwired installation
Calliope is designed for hardwired wall installation and operation through a compatible standard wall switch. The fixture has an IP20 rating and is intended for indoor use. It is not waterproof.
Professional installation recommended. Electrical installation should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician and in accordance with applicable local electrical requirements.
Care
Preserving the character of natural alabaster
Switch off the power before cleaning. Gently remove surface dust using a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaning pads, harsh chemicals and excessive moisture on the stone and metal surfaces.
As alabaster is a naturally occurring material, variations in veining, translucency and tonal distribution are part of its individual character. These differences make each fixture visually distinctive.
