Outdoor Globe Pendant Light
A Timeless Glass Globe Suspended from Architectural Metalwork
Combining a softly rounded glass shade with a durable aluminium-alloy frame, this outdoor pendant light brings a refined interpretation of classic globe lighting to exterior spaces. Its balanced silhouette has a subtle retro character while remaining clean enough to complement contemporary porches, garden pavilions and terraces.
Available in Black and Antique Copper, the pendant can be styled toward either a more modern or traditional architectural palette. An E26 / E27 socket allows the chosen bulb to become part of the final visual character, while the chain suspension gives the fixture the presence of a traditional hanging lantern.
Design & Material
Rounded glass balanced by a durable aluminium-alloy frame
The spherical glass shade gives the pendant a timeless visual identity, softening the surrounding metalwork and creating a more decorative suspended form than a purely linear exterior fixture.
Aluminium alloy provides the structural body while the glass lampshade surrounds the light source, combining exterior durability with the transparent character of a traditional globe pendant.
Finish Options
Black or Antique Copper
A clean dark finish that gives the pendant a stronger architectural outline.
A warmer metal tone that reinforces the fixture's subtle retro character.
Size Options
Three proportions for different doorway and exterior scales
The globe pendant is available in three sizes, allowing the same design language to be carried across more intimate porch settings, garden pavilions and larger covered terraces.

Product specifications
Lighting Character
Soft illumination framed by a classic glass globe
The glass shade gives the pendant a softer illuminated appearance while allowing the selected bulb to contribute directly to the overall character of the fixture.
The E26 / E27 socket provides flexibility when selecting a compatible LED or vintage-style bulb, allowing the pendant to move from a cleaner contemporary look to a more nostalgic lantern-inspired effect.
Exterior Placement
Designed for porches, garden pavilions and terraces
Outdoor Performance
IP65 protection for sheltered exterior spaces
The fixture carries an IP65 ingress-protection rating, supporting dependable use across sheltered outdoor environments such as porches, garden pavilions and terraces.
Aluminium-alloy construction provides a durable structural body while the glass shade maintains the pendant's refined globe silhouette.
Installation
Hardwired chain suspension for a traditional hanging profile
The pendant is designed for permanent hardwired installation and operates across AC 110–220V. Chain suspension completes the traditional hanging profile and provides a visually substantial connection between the fixture and ceiling.
Professional installation recommended. Electrical installation should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician and in accordance with applicable local electrical requirements.
Position the pendant with suitable clearance beneath the globe and around surrounding architectural surfaces.
Care
Maintaining the aluminium-alloy and glass surfaces
Switch off power before cleaning. Wipe the metalwork and glass using a soft, dry or lightly dampened cloth.
Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemical cleaners that may affect the metal finish or mark the glass shade.

Outdoor Hanging Lights
Common Questions
Outdoor hanging lights — also called exterior pendant lights or hanging lanterns — are suspended ceiling-mounted fixtures designed for covered outdoor spaces. They're most commonly used on verandahs, patios, porches, pergolas, entryways, and alfresco dining areas, providing ambient overhead lighting while adding a decorative focal point to the space.
Most outdoor hanging lights are rated for covered or sheltered installations only — protected from direct rain but exposed to humidity and temperature changes. If your space is uncovered or exposed to direct weather, look for a fixture with an IP65 rating or higher. The IP rating and installation requirements are listed on each product page.
They hardwire into a 120V (US) or 240V (AU) ceiling junction box, the same as an indoor pendant. The key difference outdoors is that the junction box must be rated for exterior use and properly sealed. We recommend a licensed electrician for all outdoor ceiling installations.
Yes, on most models. The majority of our outdoor hanging lights come with an adjustable cord or chain that can be shortened at installation. The maximum drop length is listed on each product page so you can plan for your ceiling height before purchasing.
For covered alfresco and patio areas, a minimum clearance of 7 feet (2.1m) from the floor to the bottom of the fixture is recommended. Over dining tables or seating, hanging slightly lower — around 6.5–7 feet (2–2.1m) — creates a more intimate feel. Always account for wind movement in open-sided outdoor spaces.
In open-sided covered areas like pergolas or verandahs, some gentle movement is normal. Look for fixtures with a heavier base or a rigid mounting arm if wind movement is a concern. Lighter fixtures with long cord drops are better suited to fully enclosed or sheltered spaces.
This varies by product and is listed on each product page. Many of our outdoor hanging lights use integrated LED and require no bulb at all. Where a replaceable bulb is required, the compatible type and fitting are specified in the product listing.
Some models are dimmable, some are not — check the product page before purchasing. Where dimming is supported, a compatible exterior-rated dimmer switch is required. Outdoor hanging lights can also be placed on a timer or smart switch for automated on/off control.
