Rustic Outdoor Wall Sconce
A Caged Farmhouse Wall Light with Warm Industrial Character
Built around a classic caged silhouette, this outdoor wall sconce brings farmhouse character and industrial structure to entrances, patios, gardens and exterior walls. The open metal framework keeps the bulb visually prominent, allowing the light source itself to become an important part of the finished composition.
Crafted from iron and metal, the fixture is available in Black or Coffee Gold and carries an IP65 weather-resistant rating for dependable exterior use. An E26 / E27 socket accepts compatible LED or Edison-style bulbs, with a bulb included for installation.
Design & Material
Farmhouse influence expressed through open metalwork
The open cage defines the fixture without concealing the bulb, creating a more direct connection between the light source and the surrounding architecture. This exposed construction reinforces the sconce's rustic and industrial character.
Iron and metal form the fixture's structural body, giving the sconce the visual weight and durability associated with traditional farmhouse and industrial exterior lighting.
Finish Options
Black or Coffee Gold for two distinct exterior expressions
Black creates a stronger graphic outline and emphasises the structure of the cage against lighter exterior surfaces.
Coffee Gold introduces a warmer decorative tone while retaining the same open farmhouse-inspired metal structure.
Dimensions
Compact proportions with a defined wall projection
The fixture measures Ø 8.3″ × W 9.8″ × H 9.4″ / Ø 21 × W 25 × H 24 cm, creating a compact but visually distinctive feature for exterior walls.

Lighting Character
An exposed light source as part of the visual composition
The open cage leaves the bulb visible rather than concealing it behind glass or a diffuser. This makes bulb form an important part of the finished appearance and reinforces the fixture's farmhouse and industrial character.
The E26 / E27 socket is compatible with LED or Edison-style bulbs, and a bulb is included with the fixture.
Exterior Placement
Designed for entrances, gardens and relaxed outdoor living
Outdoor Performance
IP65-rated construction for dependable exterior use
The sconce carries an IP65 weather-resistant rating and is designed for outdoor environments.
Iron and metal form the fixture's construction, providing a durable foundation for entrances, gardens, patios, corridors and other exterior wall applications.
Installation
Hardwired mounting for a clean permanent exterior finish
The fixture is designed for hardwired installation and operates across AC 110–240V. It is compatible with standard push-switch control, although the wall switch itself is not included.
Professional installation recommended. Electrical installation should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician and in accordance with applicable local electrical requirements.
For outdoor installation, ensure the mounting and electrical connection are completed appropriately for the fixture's IP65 rating and intended location.
Care
Maintaining the caged metalwork
Switch off power before cleaning. Remove exterior dust and residue from the cage and surrounding metal surfaces using a soft, dry or lightly dampened cloth.
Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemical cleaners that may affect the Black or Coffee Gold finish.

Outdoor Wall Lights
Common Questions
Outdoor wall lights mount directly onto an exterior wall surface. They're used at front doors, garage walls, side entries, alfresco areas, fences, and along exterior hallways — providing focused ambient or security lighting at eye level. They work equally well as a single statement fixture or in pairs flanking a door or gate.
Yes, but the level of weather protection varies by product. Look for IP44 minimum for sheltered or covered wall positions, and IP65 or higher for walls fully exposed to rain and direct weather. Coastal properties should look for fixtures with a marine-grade or corrosion-resistant finish. The IP rating is listed on every product page.
They mount onto an exterior wall and hardwire into a 120V (US) or 240V (AU) junction box. Most fixtures come with a backplate that covers the junction box. We recommend a licensed electrician for all hardwired outdoor installations, particularly where new cabling or weatherproof conduit is required.
This varies by product. Many of our outdoor wall lights use integrated LED — no bulb required. Where a replaceable bulb is needed, the compatible type, wattage, and fitting size are listed on the product page. Never exceed the maximum wattage stated for the fixture.
Match the finish to your existing door hardware, hinges, and house numbers for a cohesive look. Matte black suits contemporary and industrial exteriors. Brushed nickel or chrome works well with modern coastal and hamptons styles. Antique brass or bronze suits federation, colonial, and traditional brick homes. All available finishes are shown on each product page.
Yes. Many of our outdoor wall lights can be paired with a motion sensor switch or installed on a timer for security purposes. Some models have an integrated motion sensor — this is noted on the product page. For pure security applications, look for fixtures with a wider beam angle and cool white light output.
Some models are dimmable, some are not — this is listed on each product page. Dimmable fixtures require a compatible exterior-rated dimmer switch. Outdoor wall lights can also be wired to a timer, smart switch, or motion sensor for automated control without needing a dimmer.
A fixture flanking a front door should sit at eye level — roughly 5.5–6 feet (1.6–1.8m) from the ground to the centre of the fixture. For a single fixture beside a door, choose a height roughly one third of the door height. For wide garage walls or large exterior facades, consider a wider fixture or two fixtures spaced evenly. Full dimensions are listed on every product page.
