This outdoor post cap light pairs the familiar proportions of a traditional lantern with a cleaner retro-modern character suited to gardens, gates, pathways, patios and courtyard architecture. A die-cast aluminium body gives the fixture its defined structure, while the glass shade keeps the light visually open and allows the illuminated interior to become part of the exterior composition after dark.
Available in Medium and Large proportions, the fixture can be specified in separate hardwired or solar-powered configurations. The hardwired version uses a replaceable E26/E27 LED bulb with warm white 3000K illumination, while the solar version integrates LED lighting with selectable 3000K, 4500K and 6000K colour temperatures, remote control and dimming functionality.

Defined proportions with a classic lantern presence
The tall lantern profile gives the fixture a strong vertical presence when mounted to a fence post, gate pillar or masonry base. Its retro-inspired geometry balances decorative exterior character with a relatively restrained silhouette, allowing it to work across traditional, modern and Nordic-influenced settings.
Die-cast aluminium forms the body and supporting structure, while the glass shade creates visual contrast against the more solid frame. When illuminated, the transparent material keeps the light source visible and allows the glow to read clearly from multiple directions around the fixture.

Medium and Large scales for different exterior settings
Two sizes allow the lantern to be proportioned according to the surrounding gate, fence, pillar or landscape architecture. The Medium measures 9″ × 9″ × H 20″ (22.9 × 22.9 × H 50.8 cm), while the Large increases to 13″ × 13″ × H 26″ (33 × 33 × H 66 cm).

Two configurations for different installation requirements
The fixture is offered in separate hardwired and solar-powered configurations, each with a different lighting and control setup.
The hardwired version operates at 110–240V, uses a replaceable E26/E27 LED bulb and provides warm white 3000K illumination controlled by a wall switch.
The solar version features integrated LED lighting with 3000K, 4500K and 6000K colour-temperature selection, remote control and dimming functionality.

The hardwired configuration provides warm white 3000K illumination, creating a softer light suited to entrances, gates, patios and garden settings where a welcoming evening atmosphere is preferred.
The solar configuration expands the lighting options with three selectable colour temperatures: 3000K Warm White, 4500K Neutral White and 6000K Cool White. Remote control and dimming provide additional flexibility when adjusting the exterior lighting character.

Professional installation recommended for the hardwired configuration. Electrical installation should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician and in accordance with applicable local electrical requirements.

Care
Simple maintenance for aluminium and glass surfaces
Clean the fixture using a soft, dry or lightly dampened cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemical cleaners. For hardwired installations, isolate electrical power before cleaning.

We accept eligible returns within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition, and include all original packaging and accessories.
For change-of-mind returns, return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. If your item arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, we'll cover reasonable return shipping costs once the issue has been confirmed.

Pillar lights are fixtures designed to mount on top of or onto the face of brick, stone, or rendered pillars, posts, and gate columns. They're commonly used at driveway entrances, garden gates, fence posts, and courtyard columns — providing both functional lighting and a strong architectural statement at entry points.
Yes. Pillar lights are built for permanent outdoor exposure. Check for an IP44 rating minimum for covered or sheltered pillars, and IP65 or higher for fully exposed installations. The IP rating for each fixture is listed on the product page.
Most pillar lights are hardwired into a 120V (US) or 240V (AU) outdoor circuit, with the cable routed through or along the pillar. Some post-top models sit over a hollow post with wiring fed through the centre. We recommend a licensed electrician for all hardwired outdoor installations.
Most of our pillar lights use integrated LED, so no bulb changes are ever needed. Integrated LEDs are rated for 50,000+ hours. Where a fixture takes a replaceable bulb, the compatible type and fitting size are listed on the product page.
As a general rule, the fixture should be no wider than the pillar face it sits on. Post-top models list the compatible post diameter in their specs. For gate pillars and columns, taller lantern-style fixtures tend to be the most proportionate. Full dimensions are listed on every product page.

Clean geometric profiles suit contemporary homes; lantern shapes suit federation, colonial, or classic brick builds. Some models support dimming, some do not — this is listed on each product page. Dimmable fixtures require a compatible outdoor dimmer and may not work with all dimmer brands or smart home systems.
Yes. As long as the fixture is hardwired, it can be controlled by any compatible timer switch, smart switch, or home automation system wired into the same circuit. If you also want brightness control, ensure the fixture is dimmable and paired with a compatible dimmer.
