This modern outdoor pedestal light combines a black aluminium frame with a high-transparency acrylic shade, creating a layered architectural form for courtyards, sheltered decks, garden paths, terrace edges and exterior pillars. The open perimeter keeps the fixture visually light, while the glowing inner element provides a softer focal point within the structured outer frame.
Two sizes are available: Medium at L 5.9″ × W 5.9″ × H 7.3″ (15 × 15 × H 18.5 cm) and Large at L 8.9″ × W 8.9″ × H 10″ (22.6 × 22.6 × H 25.4 cm). Separate hardwired and solar-powered configurations are offered, with the hardwired version rated at 12W and the solar version at 5W.
Design & Illumination
A defined black frame around a luminous central form
The outer aluminium structure creates a clean rectangular boundary around the illuminated inner volume, leaving visible space between the two elements. This layered construction gives the fixture depth while avoiding the visual weight of a fully enclosed lantern.
Acrylic forms the central shade and softly diffuses the illumination within the black frame. The contrast between the brighter inner element and darker architectural structure becomes particularly clear after dusk, creating a restrained contemporary lighting effect.

For change-of-mind returns, return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. If your item arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, we'll cover reasonable return shipping costs once the issue has been confirmed.

Pillar lights are fixtures designed to mount on top of or onto the face of brick, stone, or rendered pillars, posts, and gate columns. They're commonly used at driveway entrances, garden gates, fence posts, and courtyard columns — providing both functional lighting and a strong architectural statement at entry points.
Yes. Pillar lights are built for permanent outdoor exposure. Check for an IP44 rating minimum for covered or sheltered pillars, and IP65 or higher for fully exposed installations. The IP rating for each fixture is listed on the product page.
Most pillar lights are hardwired into a 120V (US) or 240V (AU) outdoor circuit, with the cable routed through or along the pillar. Some post-top models sit over a hollow post with wiring fed through the centre. We recommend a licensed electrician for all hardwired outdoor installations.
Most of our pillar lights use integrated LED, so no bulb changes are ever needed. Integrated LEDs are rated for 50,000+ hours. Where a fixture takes a replaceable bulb, the compatible type and fitting size are listed on the product page.
As a general rule, the fixture should be no wider than the pillar face it sits on. Post-top models list the compatible post diameter in their specs. For gate pillars and columns, taller lantern-style fixtures tend to be the most proportionate. Full dimensions are listed on every product page.

Clean geometric profiles suit contemporary homes; lantern shapes suit federation, colonial, or classic brick builds. Yes. As long as the fixture is hardwired, it can be controlled by any compatible timer switch, smart switch, or home automation system wired into the same circuit. If you also want brightness control, ensure the fixture is dimmable and paired with a compatible dimmer.
