This modern outdoor pillar light combines a black die-cast aluminium body with an acrylic shade, creating a compact square form for entrance posts, garden fences, gate columns, courtyards and landscape pillars. The substantial outer frame gives the fixture visual weight, while the inset diffuser creates a softer illuminated centre within the darker architectural surround.
Two sizes are available: Medium at L 9″ × W 9″ × H 4″ (22.9 × 22.9 × H 10.2 cm) and Large at L 11″ × W 11″ × H 5″ (27.9 × 27.9 × H 12.7 cm). Separate solar and hardwired configurations provide different installation approaches, with automatic light sensing and remote control on the solar version and 110–240V operation on the hardwired configuration.
Design & Illumination
A compact square frame built around an inset diffuser
Both sizes use a broad square footprint with a relatively shallow overall height, allowing the fixture to sit closely against the supporting pillar or post. The proportions create a grounded architectural presence rather than the vertical emphasis of a traditional lantern.
Die-cast aluminium forms the structural black body, while the acrylic shade creates a softer central surface for the light. The contrast between the dark frame and illuminated diffuser gives the fixture depth while keeping the design visually restrained.

Power Options
Automatic solar operation or fixed hardwired lighting
The solar version uses a 4000mAh battery, charges in approximately 5–6 hours under suitable sunlight conditions and provides approximately 8–12 hours of working time depending on sunlight and usage conditions. Automatic light sensing and remote-control operation are included.
The hardwired configuration provides a permanent AC-powered installation, with stated 18W / 20W power options depending on the selected configuration and operation through a wall switch.
Lighting Character
Soft illumination through an inset acrylic diffuser
The acrylic shade softens the visible light within the fixture and creates a more even illuminated surface inside the black aluminium frame. This contrast allows the fixture to remain visually defined after dark without exposing the light source as prominently as clear glazing.

Installation
Base-mounted placement with solar or hardwired configurations
The fixture is designed for base-mounted installation on a suitable pillar, post or ground base. Select the solar or hardwired configuration according to the intended location and available power arrangement.
Professional installation recommended for the hardwired configuration. Electrical installation should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician and in accordance with applicable local electrical requirements.

Simple care for aluminium and acrylic surfaces
For hardwired installations, switch off power before cleaning. Wipe the fixture using a soft, dry cloth and avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemical cleaners.

Pillar lights are fixtures designed to mount on top of or onto the face of brick, stone, or rendered pillars, posts, and gate columns. They're commonly used at driveway entrances, garden gates, fence posts, and courtyard columns — providing both functional lighting and a strong architectural statement at entry points.
Yes. Pillar lights are built for permanent outdoor exposure. Check for an IP44 rating minimum for covered or sheltered pillars, and IP65 or higher for fully exposed installations. The IP rating for each fixture is listed on the product page.
Most pillar lights are hardwired into a 120V (US) or 240V (AU) outdoor circuit, with the cable routed through or along the pillar. Some post-top models sit over a hollow post with wiring fed through the centre. We recommend a licensed electrician for all hardwired outdoor installations.
Most of our pillar lights use integrated LED, so no bulb changes are ever needed. Integrated LEDs are rated for 50,000+ hours. Where a fixture takes a replaceable bulb, the compatible type and fitting size are listed on the product page.
As a general rule, the fixture should be no wider than the pillar face it sits on. Post-top models list the compatible post diameter in their specs. For gate pillars and columns, taller lantern-style fixtures tend to be the most proportionate. Full dimensions are listed on every product page.

Clean geometric profiles suit contemporary homes; lantern shapes suit federation, colonial, or classic brick builds. Yes. As long as the fixture is hardwired, it can be controlled by any compatible timer switch, smart switch, or home automation system wired into the same circuit. If you also want brightness control, ensure the fixture is dimmable and paired with a compatible dimmer.
