A pitched upper section, tall faceted body and decorative lower detailing give this outdoor pendant its traditional architectural profile. Sandblasted black die-cast aluminium outlines clear glass panels, creating a strong contrast with stone, brick, render and timber while keeping the enclosure visually open.
The lantern body measures Ø 18 cm × H 44.5 cm / Ø 7.1″ × H 17.5″, giving it a slender yet noticeable presence over entrances, verandas and covered patios. Clear glazing leaves the included bulb visible, while adjustable chain suspension of up to 150 cm / 59″ allows the hanging position to be tailored during installation.
Design & Material
Geometric framing with traditional detail
Defined vertical supports draw the eye along the lantern body, between the pitched upper section and ornamental lower detail. The elongated composition gives the fitting a clear architectural outline without excessive decorative bulk.
The sandblasted black finish emphasises the frame's geometry against lighter exterior surfaces. Clear glass introduces transparency between the metal supports, balancing the dark outline and preserving a view into the lantern.

Installation
Hardwired ceiling mounting with an adjustable chain
The fitting requires a hardwired mains connection and operates on 110–240V. Adjust the chain during installation to establish the hanging position, accounting for the lantern body height and comfortable clearance beneath the fixture.
Professional installation recommended. Electrical installation should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician and in accordance with applicable local electrical requirements.
Care
Care for the black finish and glass panels
Switch off the power before cleaning. Wipe the aluminium frame and glass with a soft, dry or lightly dampened cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemical cleaners.

For change-of-mind returns, return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. If your item arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, we'll cover reasonable return shipping costs once the issue has been confirmed.

Outdoor hanging lights — also called exterior pendant lights or hanging lanterns — are suspended ceiling-mounted fixtures designed for covered outdoor spaces. They're most commonly used on verandahs, patios, porches, pergolas, entryways, and alfresco dining areas, providing ambient overhead lighting while adding a decorative focal point to the space.
Most outdoor hanging lights are rated for covered or sheltered installations only — protected from direct rain but exposed to humidity and temperature changes. If your space is uncovered or exposed to direct weather, look for a fixture with an IP65 rating or higher. The IP rating and installation requirements are listed on each product page.
They hardwire into a 120V (US) or 240V (AU) ceiling junction box, the same as an indoor pendant. The key difference outdoors is that the junction box must be rated for exterior use and properly sealed. We recommend a licensed electrician for all outdoor ceiling installations.
Yes, on most models. The majority of our outdoor hanging lights come with an adjustable cord or chain that can be shortened at installation. The maximum drop length is listed on each product page so you can plan for your ceiling height before purchasing.
For covered alfresco and patio areas, a minimum clearance of 7 feet (2.1m) from the floor to the bottom of the fixture is recommended. Over dining tables or seating, hanging slightly lower — around 6.5–7 feet (2–2.1m) — creates a more intimate feel. Always account for wind movement in open-sided outdoor spaces.
In open-sided covered areas like pergolas or verandahs, some gentle movement is normal. Look for fixtures with a heavier base or a rigid mounting arm if wind movement is a concern. Lighter fixtures with long cord drops are better suited to fully enclosed or sheltered spaces.
This varies by product and is listed on each product page. Many of our outdoor hanging lights use integrated LED and require no bulb at all. Where a replaceable bulb is required, the compatible type and fitting are specified in the product listing.
Some models are dimmable, some are not — check the product page before purchasing. Where dimming is supported, a compatible exterior-rated dimmer switch is required. Outdoor hanging lights can also be placed on a timer or smart switch for automated on/off control.
