Sculptural Alabaster Lighting
Alvia Alabaster Wall Light — Natural Stone, Architectural Rhythm
The Alvia Alabaster Wall Light explores the relationship between natural stone and contemporary architectural form. Its elongated silhouette is defined by a finely ribbed alabaster surface, creating a sculptural composition with subtle depth and texture. The natural translucency of genuine alabaster allows the stone itself to become a luminous feature, while individual variations in veining give each fixture a distinctive character.
Concealed integrated LED illumination filters through the alabaster to produce a gentle, diffused glow that accentuates the stone's linear detailing. Offered in three heights of 30 cm, 45 cm and 60 cm, Alvia can be specified as a restrained bedside accent, a rhythmic hallway feature or a more prominent architectural wall light. Warm White 3000K illumination provides an inviting atmosphere, with additional colour-temperature and dimming options available.
Design & Material
Natural translucency with sculptural precision
The vertically ribbed surface gives Alvia its distinctive architectural rhythm. Repeated linear contours introduce shadow and visual depth, allowing the fixture to retain a strong sculptural identity even when unilluminated. Its narrow profile offers a considered balance between decorative texture and clean geometry.
Genuine alabaster introduces a material quality that manufactured imitations cannot precisely reproduce. Each piece displays naturally occurring tonal differences, ranging from soft milky-white surfaces to grey or amber veining. These variations are inherent to the stone and ensure that no two fixtures are visually identical.
Dimensions
Three heights for considered wall placement
Alvia is offered in three proportions, allowing the vertical presence of the fixture to be tailored to the surrounding architecture. The 30 cm and 45 cm models share the same slender length and width, while the 60 cm version has a slightly broader profile for greater visual presence.
| Variant | Imperial | Metric |
|---|---|---|
| Small | L 3.9″ × W 2.0″ × H 11.8″ | L 10 × W 5 × H 30 cm |
| Medium | L 3.9″ × W 2.0″ × H 17.7″ | L 10 × W 5 × H 45 cm |
| Large | L 4.7″ × W 2.4″ × H 23.6″ | L 12 × W 6 × H 60 cm |
| Optional mounting backplate | Ø 4.7″ | Ø 12 cm |
The optional circular backplate provides additional coverage around the electrical connection point where required. Its inclusion allows for a more accommodating installation without changing the fixture's characteristic elongated form.

Size Options
A proportion for every composition
The three configurations retain the same ribbed alabaster character while offering different levels of visual emphasis. Select according to the desired relationship between the fixture, wall surface and surrounding furnishings.
The most compact proportion, suited to intimate accent lighting and locations where a restrained vertical detail is preferred.
An elongated form that provides stronger visual rhythm, particularly effective beside mirrors, along corridors or in balanced wall arrangements.
The tallest configuration, creating a more prominent architectural feature across larger wall areas and vertical compositions.
Lighting Options
Choose the character of the illumination
Alvia uses integrated LED illumination to illuminate the natural alabaster from within. The colour temperature influences how the stone appears when lit and the atmosphere created within the surrounding interior.
A warm, inviting light that complements alabaster's natural softness and introduces a comfortable ambient glow.
A more balanced white illumination for interiors seeking a clearer, more neutral lighting character.
A crisp, cooler white appearance that gives the alabaster surface a more contemporary visual expression.
Lighting Character
A softer expression of architectural light
Rather than exposing the light source directly, Alvia allows illumination to pass through the natural alabaster body. The stone moderates the appearance of the light while revealing its internal texture, producing subtle tonal variations across the ribbed surface.
The combination of a slender silhouette, rhythmic surface and diffused illumination creates a light fitting that contributes to a room's atmosphere without relying on an oversized form. Installed individually or as a repeated arrangement, Alvia introduces a considered sense of depth and continuity.
Placement
Considered lighting for refined interiors
Alvia's elongated form and softly illuminated stone surface make it particularly well suited to interiors where wall lighting is intended to serve both an atmospheric and architectural purpose.
Installation
Hardwired wall-mounted installation
Alvia is designed for hardwired wall installation and operation through an external wall switch. An optional circular backplate measuring 12 cm in diameter is provided for additional coverage around the electrical mounting point.
For a dimmable configuration, the compatible dimming driver must be positioned outside the fixture canopy. A compatible Triac dimmer switch is recommended for the Triac dimmable version. Driver and control compatibility should be established before installation.
Professional installation recommended. Electrical installation should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician and in accordance with applicable local electrical requirements.
Care
Preserving the natural character of alabaster
Switch off the light and allow it to cool before cleaning. Gently remove surface dust using a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh chemical cleaners and prolonged exposure to moisture.
Natural variations in colour, translucency and veining are characteristic of genuine alabaster. These differences are part of the material's individual appearance rather than imperfections.
